4. Miracle on 34th Street
Whether you enjoy the original 1947 version of this tale starring Natalie Wood as the little girl who doesn't believe in Santa, or the modernized version with Mara Wilson as the disbelieving little girl, both movies include the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. And if you are skeptical of remakes, you should know that the newer version does stick close to the original story.
When the actor hired to play Santa in the annual Macy's parade is found to be drunk, a replacement is needed quick. The newly hired man seems perfect for the job and there is a good reason for that: he claims he is in fact the real Kris Kringle. His sanity is questioned and put on trial, even as those around him begin to notice that there is indeed something special about this store Santa.
The 1994 version also stars Elizabeth Perkins, Dylan McDermott, and Richard Attenborough as Santa. Just click on the link and search for your favorite, old or new, both movies are enjoyable whether you believe in Santa or not.
